Career Services

You want a Life Fully Lived – Doesn’t everybody?  You will spend about 80,000 hours working – Be in The Career that gives you that Life!

The Detroit Section has a Career Services Committee -

One no longer needs to contact ACS headquarters for career assistance. Regardless of your degree or experience, managing your career has never been more important. The Committee Chair is Heinz Plaumann, Ph.D.  He can be reached at [email protected].  He has over 35 years of global industrial leadership experience. He has mentored hundreds of colleagues, friends and clients through successful career development. He is also an adjunct professor at Wayne State University and University of Detroit Mercy. In his pivot to retire, he founded QuantumQik Careers and is creator of FlashCard Leadership training videos.

As a Certified ACS Career Counselor, he has led many of their workshops at National and Regional meetings.

He also has given many lunch-n-learns to students, graduate and undergraduate, on mostly career-related topics. Check out some of his FlashCard Leadership videos below and see how he can help your group!

A good place for an ACS member to start hunting for a position is at the ACS Career Navigator website.

The National ACS website has courses and training opportunities in professional education, leadership development, virtual classrooms, webinars, career events with workshops & networking opportunities, individual development plan tools for graduate and postdoctoral scholars, resume tips, and many other applications!
